Let us show you around!

Offered throughout the day during the summer months, we’ve got a tour for every taste- from a journey through the past, to a geological hike, outside on our grounds.

Here are our current tour offerings:

Earth’s Geological Exhibits

Would you like to go on a tour 4.6 billion years in the making? Join your Science Interpreter and explore the wonders of Our Planet, Our Province, Our People and Our Future through the eyes of a geologist!

The Titanic Story

Many people blame the iceberg for the sinking of the Titanic, but there is much more to this disaster hidden below the surface. Join your Science Interpreter for a tour of the Titanic Story, and learn what really caused this tragedy to occur.

Quest for Black Gold

Would you like to learn how oil and gas form? Where it comes from? How it impacts our lives and why it is found off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador? Join your Science Interpreter for a tour of the ExxonMobil Oil & Gas Gallery to learn the answers to these questions and more…

Rock Around the Province

Newfoundland and Labrador has some of the most spectacular geology in the world. Join your Science Interpreter for a tour of our outdoor Rockscapes exhibit, and experience the geology of our province from East to West… without ever leaving the parking lot! Weather permitting.

Tools of the Trade

Ah, the life of a geologist… exploring the outdoors, soaking up the sun, and looking at rocks all day. But don’t be fooled! Field work is hard work. Participate in a virtual field trip as your Science Interpreter demonstrates the tools of the trade on a hike through our GEO PARK. Weather permitting.

Tours take about 20 minutes, and can be modified to suit different ages and interests.
