Climate Collective held its first virtual Youth Climate Summit: Wednesday, July 28th to Saturday, July 31st, 2021! The event was completely online, so that youth from across the province and beyond could attend, and it was completely free! The event begun with a special Facebook live presentation, “The Importance of Youth Climate Activism,” with Fridays For Future St. John’s on Wednesday, July 28th, a.k.a. World Nature Conservation Day!
The theme for the Summit was “Take Action!” and the Summit featured presentations and workshops on solar energy, conscious buying, environment-based writing, taking climate action in your community and more! Take a look at the schedule for the Summit below!
In addition, we offered a Climate Action Planning session where you could learn how to create a project plan to reduce carbon emissions in your school or community. This will be something we will offer again with our Youth Climate Action Chapters, so if you are interested in joining up, email climate.collective@mun.ca!
If you have any questions about this or future Summits, don’t hesitate to reach out: climate.collective@mun.ca.
